If you read this blog, and I'm hoping more and more of you will :), eventually you'll come to find out that I'm a total Space Travel Nut.  One of my prize possesions is an original, I got it in 1970, Apollo 11 flight plan that NASA sent to me after I sent them a suggestion as a teenager and an Apollo 15 flight plan they sent me after another suggestion (a flight plan is motivating to 17-year-old-space-nut).

So what, you ask, does this have to do with independent innovation?  Well, today, the New York Times magazine has an article talking about NASA's effort to engage independent inventors in an effort to build new things like space gloves, climbers, etc.

In my opinion, you don't want to miss this article, if only for inspiration.

Live long and prosper.
